Character Design - Phillipae

Completed as a project for an OCAD School of Continuing Studies course on character design. Inspired by ziplines, I wanted to design a species of fantasy characters that maneuvered their jungle environment using a protrusion-like limb on the back of their skulls. Using their bone hooks and the vines strung about their habitat, these characters are able to quickly maneuver through the forest. Designed in August 2021.

Extra sketches and a shape language exercise in which Phillipae and her partner character, Pascal, were drawn in a series of other styles. This exercise was incredibly helpful in better capturing each character's overall shape language.
